Abstract

The mixed FEM was originally developed for analysis of the two-dimensional problems. Later, the method was applied in the one-dimensional problem of beam structural systems [9]. It was shown that in fact this method represents an extended three-moment rule. As with the three-moment rule, its application is also limited to the analysis of structural systems as continuous beams, grids and so forth. In the case of complex frame systems the advantage is on the side of the stiffness method.
