Various version of the so-called Heisenberg ferromagnet model
$$ {\hat H_{ea}} = - J\sum\limits_j {\left( {{{\hat \vec S}_j}{{\hat \vec S}_{j + 1}} + \delta \hat S_j^z\hat S_{j + 1}^z} \right)} $$
are well-known to be treated via certain techniques. Among those there are mean field method, trial function method, that of correlation functions and others; for example, in the case of s=1/2 spins situated along a chain the model can be solved exactly. Nowadays hamiltonian (1) is of a great interest both from the application point of view and from that of mathematical physics. Indeed, we shall see in what follows that the system governed by (1) displays many interesting and even intriguing features.
