Zusammenfassung
Die chirurgische Behandlung des Torticollis spasmodicus begann im 17. Jahrhundert mit einer Myotomie durch Minnius (8). Ende des vergangenen Jahrhunderts folgte die Ära der Neurotomien, beginnend mit Keen 1891 (6). Die erste Rhizotomie zur Behandlung des neurologischen Torticollis wurde 1924 von McKenzie (7) mitgeteilt. Ihr schloß sich 1926 die zervikale hintere Rhizotomie von Foerster (4) und 1930 die vordere Rhizotomie von Dandy (3) an, beide kombiniert mit Neurotomie des spinalen N. accessorius. 1970 schlugen Hassler und Dieckmann (5) eine stereotaktische Thalamotomie vor, um überwertige subkortikale Impulse zum Pyramidensystem an ihrem Entstehungsort abzufangen. Zusätzlich empfahlen sie eine Neurotomie des spinalen N. accessorius, ein Verfahren, dem Bertrand et al. sich 1978 (1) anschlossen, um ab Anfang der 80er Jahre unter Einbeziehung von Teilen zervikaler Rami dorsales nur noch peripher selektiv zu denervieren (2), ähnlich wie Xinkang 1981 (9).
