Abstract

In this study, a thermal conductance model was used to predict the performance characteristics of an air to air two-phase closed thermosyphon heat exchanger for waste heat recovery. To validate the analysis, a heat exchanger composed of 124 copper /water thermosyphons was manufactured and tested under various operating conditions. The experimental performance of the heat exchanger showed good agreement with the theoretical prediction from the aspect of engineering applications.
