Influence of Acoustic Disturbances on the Separation Flow Characteristics Behind Two Semi-Infinite Circular Cylinders

Summary

The results of the experimental studies of the flow near the surface and in the wake behind two circular console cylinders under the acoustic influence and without it are presented« Depending on the position of two cylinders with respect to the oncoming flow, it v/as observed that the flow undergoes different influences on the part of high-frequency acoustic oscillations — the flow characteristics either increase, or decrease. It was shown that in both cases sound oscillations ore transformed into vortical disturbances. Amplitude and phase characteristics of these disturbances were obtained.
