Abstract
the plasma concentration of myeloperoxidase (MPO) [7, 8]. They found that short-term submaximal exercise was accompanied by a significant increase of MPO. Given the numerous humoral changes occurring during muscular exercise and the wide variety of stimuli capable of triggering PMN activation, the mechanisms responsible for this activation and its biological significance, if any, remain open to conjecture.
