Zusammenfassung
Es wäre sicher verfehlt zu behaupten, daß genetische Anomalien des Haares im Mittelpunkt des heutigen Interesses der Dermatologen stehen. Dies verwundert auch nicht, da genetische Erkrankungen des Haares noch relativ selten sind, trotz der hohen Zahl von Patienten mit Haarproblemen, die regelmäßig die dermatologischen Praxen bzw. die diversen Hautkliniken aufsuchen. Dennoch ist die Diagnose derartiger Anomalien eine dankbare Aufgabe für den Dermatologen, wenn er im Stande ist, aus dem Haarbefund konkrete Hinweise für eine zugrundeliegende Stoffwechselstörung zu geben und damit für Abhilfe zu sorgen, oder ein Syndrom zu erkennen, das für viele medizinische Disziplinen von Interesse ist. Nicht zuletzt ist die genauere Kenntnis der Haarveränderungen, die beispielsweise bei einer Phenylketonurie vorkommen, oder auch bei einer Störung des Kupferstoffwechsels, außerordentlich hilfreich, um rechtzeitig auf derartige wichtige Krankheitsbilder hinzuweisen.
