Clinical Pharmacologal Profile of Low Molecular Weight Heparins

New Trends in Haemostasis

Abstract

In postoperative care (Kakkar 1982, Bergqvist 1986, Turpie 1986) and in medical patients (Dahan 1986, Harenberg 1987a, Harenberg 1990) various low molecular weight (LMW) heparins have been shown to prevent thromboembolism with a single dose daily, while treatment for thromboembolism appears to require repeated daily subcutaneous injections (Holm 1986, Janvier 1987).
