Zusammenfassung
In der Behandlung fortgeschrittener Plattenepithelkarzinome gelten Operation und Strahlenenergie als etablierte Primärtherapie. Die zytostatische Chemotherapie wurde zunächst bei austherapierten Patienten unter rein palliativen Gesichtspunkten eingesetzt (Übersicht in [2]). Nach der Einführung des Cisplatins in den 70er-Jahren erfolgte der Einsatz der Chemotherapie dann zunehmend auch bei nicht vorbehandelten Erkrankten im fortgeschrittenen Tumorstadium III und IV. Der ermutigende Grund hierfür war das gute Ansprechen nicht vorbehandelter Tumoren auf Cisplatin-haltige Kombinationen, also die initiale Remission [10].
