The Pseudo-Logarithmic Transformation for Robust Displacement Estimation

Abstract

There is experimental evidence that the pseudo-logarithmic transformation of zero-mean images makes the displacement estimation more robust and consistent. This paper gives a mathematical analysis of this process and relates it to robust statistics.
