Abstract
A computer vision task is considered consisting of the analysis of coloured outdoor image sequences acquired by a car mounted camera. The images have to be analysed with respect to the occurence of traffic signs. The signs appearing in the visual field of the optical sensor have to be detected and recognized, text and symbols should be interpreted.
