Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIH,volume 58))

Abstract

During the last two decades, the characterization of neuropeptides and of their cellular receptors has constituted one of the major goals in neuroscience research and has given rise to the development of new technologies, especially in neurocytochemistry. We will briefly present and discuss here two immunological methodologies leading to the production of antibodies against receptors for neuropeptides: the anti-idiotypic and “anti-complementary peptide” methodologies.
