Picosecond Stimulated Raman Measurement of Enhanced Optical Nonlinearities in a Conjugated Polymer

Abstract

We measure optical Stark effects in a polydiacetylene using picosecond stimulated Raman scattering. Large signal enhancements occur when exciton sidebands are used as Raman intermediate states, in agreement with calculations of the overlap integrals for these transitions.
