Zusammenfassung

Die hohe Inzidenz und langsame Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit (Proliferationsrate 6%) mit einer Verdopplungszeit von über 100 Tagen beeinflussen die Nachsorge von Patienten mit einem Prostatakarzinom. Eine programmierte Nachsorge wird der biologischen Besonderheit des Prostatakarzinoms nur bedingt gerecht, wenngleich ein derartiges Vorgehen in der urologischen Praxis die Zuverlässigkeit der Patientenführung erhöht. Die Nachsorge muß eine Progression des Primärtumors ebenso wie den Relaps nach kurativer Behandlung aufdecken, den das Auftreten von Lymphknoten und Knochenmetastasen kennzeichnet (Tabelle 1).
