Zusammenfassung
Das bei weitem am häufigsten eingesetzte Verfahren zur Trennung von Stoffen in der chemischen und petrochemischen Industrie ist die Destillation. Die Destillation ist ein Verfahren der thermischen Flüssigkeitszerlegung und beruht im wesentlichen darauf, daβ der beim Destillieren eines Flüssigkeitsgemisches erzeugte Gemischdampf im Gegenstrom zum Kondensat dieses Dampfes geleitet wird. Dabei nutzt man den physikalischen Effekt, daβ sich Flüssigphase und Dampfphase im Gleichgewicht in ihrer Zusammensetzung unterscheiden. Die Zerlegung des Gemisches wird durch eine innige Vermischung von flüssiger und dampfförmiger Phase gefördert. Zu einer einfachen Destillationskolonne gehören demnach ein Verdampfer zum Erzeugen des Gemischdampfes, eine Trennsäule, in welcher die Gemischauftrennung stattfindet, und ein Kondensator zum Niederschlagen der leichtersiedenden Gemischdämpfe, die die Trennsäule verlassen. Die Lage des Zulaufs ist abhängig von der Zusammensetzung des aufzutrennenden Gemisches. Die Trennsäule oberhalb des Zulaufs bezeichnet man als Verstärkerteil und unterhalb des Zulaufs als Abtriebsteil. Das gebildete Kondensat wird zum Teil als Rücklauf der Trennsäule wieder aufgegeben und dort im Gegenstrom zum Dampf geführt.
