Zusammenfassung

Dieser Beitrag gibt eine Einführung in das Gebiet der Simulationstechnik. Übersichtsartig skizzieren wir einige zentrale Aspekte, wie

  • die grundsätzliche Vorgehensweise,

  • die mathematische Modellierung,

  • wichtige numerische Methoden,

  • gebräuchliche Simulationssprachen,

  • Rechner für Simulationszwecke,

  • Prozeβ- und Benutzerschnittstellen,

und erläutern einige grundlegende Begriffe. Ein Ausblick auf aktuelle Entwicklungen, wie die Unterstützung der Simulationstechnik durch Werkzeuge aus dem Bereich der Künstlichen Intelligenz, schlieβt die Übersicht ab. Eine vertiefende Diskussion mancher der hier angerissenen Themen erfolgt in den weiteren Beiträgen dieses Buches.
