Summary

The paper will present the architecture of the Expert System FOCA. It will introduce the forecasting methods and forecasting programming language used by the Expert and will give details of how the Expert produces knowledge about a given problem. The way the Expert interacts with the user will be demonstrated, as well as the opportunity of the user to propose solutions. The Expert System will then be applied to empirical data taken from industry. It will be described how a suitable model is developed.
