Abstract

Imaging of the transplanted kidney poses a number of specific problems and challenges for the radiologist. The graft is threatened by two major groups of complications, nephrologic and urologic. Any of these complications may cause graft dysfunction due to ischemia, rejection, drug toxicity, infection, leakage, fluid collection, or obstruction. Since two or more complications may be simultaneously at work, the clinical picture is often ambiguous.
