Abstract

In the framework of classical mechanics there is no need to treat systems containing identical particles in any special way, for even though all their characteristic properties are the same, it is always possible to identify each one of them. It suffices in principle to measure the position and momentum of each particle at a given instant of time with infinite precision. With these values as initial conditions and using the equations of motion, each particle can be identified at any other time.
