Abstract

The Drafting Model encloses unambiguous descriptions of representations on technical drawings. The extent of the various representations is restricted to the application area of “Mechanical Engineering” and only annotation representations are supported that are in accordance with the international drafting standards (the relevant standards are shown in figure 2.1). Thus there are descriptions of representations of drawing organization data, dimension graphs, tolerances and surface attributes. Descriptions of representations of the projected geometry are not integrated in the Drafting Model, but by describing necessary geometry appearances requirements are formulated for the responsible information models, especially the Presentation Model.
