Physical Properties of (Ba,K)BiO3

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Solid-State Sciences ((SSSOL,volume 89))

Abstract

In order to see if the mechanism of the superconductivity of (Ba,K)BiO3 is common to that of Cu-oxide systems, the transport and magnetic properties of (Ba,K)BiO3 were measured and the oxygen isotope effect was also studied. All these results suggest that the superconductivity can be explained by the classical phonon-mediated mechanism, which seems to be unable to explain the high temperature superconductivity of the Cu-oxides.
