NMR and NQR in Highly Correlated Metallic and Superconducting Cu Oxides
In order to understand the exotic Cu spin dynamics in the normal (metallic) state of the high-Tc and related metallic Cu oxides, the measurements of the NQR frequency spectra and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation have been utilized. A sizable charge differentiation in the Cu-O plane sites is found even in the metallic phases of YBa2Cu3Oy and La2−xSrxO4. From the temperature dependence of the relaxation rate 1/T1, it is found that highly enhanced relaxation process exists in the high-Tc oxides. The data are also exhibiting of the opening of a gap in the low-lying excitations with an energy comparable to the superconducting gap.
