Quasi-Particles in the Degenerate Lattice Anderson Model

Abstract

We present a modified bosonic version of the infinite-U lattice Anderson model with large orbital degeneracy N, which yields finite intersite coherence effects even in the limit N→∞ in contrast to the traditional models. Using the new model, we study the renormalized energies and life-times of the conduction electrons, the effective electron-electron interaction and the effects of the strong electron correlation on the electron-phonon interaction rigorously and explicitly in the limit N>>1. These results show that the system is in the Fermi liquid state at T≲T0, where T0 is the coherence temperature, while it behaves just like a collection of single Kondo impurities at T>>T0.
