Neutral Bound Excitons at Intermediate to High Magnetic Fields

Abstract

The influence of an external constant magnetic field on the ground state energy of an exciton bound to a neutral shallow acceptor impurity is studied in the effective mass approximation using a variational non-adiabatic method well-adapted for intermediate to high magnetic fields. The results permit to discuss the validity of those previously obtained in the low and high field limits using respectively perturbation and adiabatic variational methods.
