Interband Electron-Phonon Interaction in Magnetooptics of Hg1−xMnxTe

Resonant two-mode polarons due to phonon-induced electron transitions between the conduction and the valence bands are considered and shown to describe the observed effect in the zero-gap semi-magnetic material Hg0.95Mn0.05Te. The interband electron-phonon interaction allows one to investigate an involved structure of the heavy-hole magnetic subbands in zero-gap semiconductors.
