Zusammenfassung

Die Vasektomie ist als chirurgische Kontrazeption ein Beitrag des Mannes zur gemeinsamen Familienplanung. Es handelt sich dabei um einen einfachen Eingriff, dessen letzte Konsequenz die Erkenntnis des Mannes sein muß, daß er, entsprechend unserer vorangehenden Aufklärung, irreversibel zeugungsunfähig ist. Setzt man voraus, daß der Entschluß von beiden Partnern getragen wird, bleibt zunächst die Frage offen, ob unerwünschte psychologische Auswirkungen bzw. Veränderungen in der psychosexu-ellen Sphäre beider Partner auftreten und ob mit somatisch-medizinischen Vasektomiefolgen zu rechnen ist.
