Erfolge chirurgischer Interventionen können durch akute postoperative hirnorganische Komplikationen zunichte gemacht werden. Dies gilt in besonderem Maße bei älteren Menschen, wobei die Eigenheiten dieses Kollektivs und die steigende Zahl älterer Patienten besondere Beachtung verdienen.
