Abstract

Once the laser-induced melecular polarization is appreciable, the molecular re-emission field is no longer negligible. In turn, it couples to the incident laser field to generate new stimulated or coherent radiation from the molecule or molecule-atom ensembles, or to cause different coherent transient spectral effects closely linked to various molecular parameters and relaxations. In this chapter we unify the theoretical treatments for different kinds of mechanisms dealing with various nonlinear coupling interactions of molecules with one or multiple laser fields. Numerous experimental results and applications are introduced as well.
