Abstract

To my knowledge there have been no studies on splanchnic or renal blood flow on voluntarily diving reptiles or birds. Therefore, this chapter concerns mammals in which information is the result of only two studies. Before dealing with these reports, a few comments on the basic aspects of renal and visceral blood flow follow.
