Military medicine includes medical organization, prevention, and treatment. As a component of the military organization, the military health services maintain a high level of readiness, preparedness, and flexibility. Medicine in the field aims to care for battle casualties end civilian disasters by treatment and evacuation. Through adequate medical organization, surgical and medical treatment are given to casualties in the most efficient and professional way. Military medicine on the battlefield has a threefold mission: to save life, to alleviate suffering, and to return soldiers to duty.
