Propylene Polymerizations with Group 4 Metallocene/Alumoxane Systems

The existing Ti and Zr metallocene/methylalumoxane (MAO) isospecific propylene polymerization catalyst systems are unsuitable at conventional polymerization temperatures. The most significant problems have been that Ti(IV) complexes are reduced to inactive species (1,2) and that the Zr analogues produce wax (3–7).
