Using an IBM Multiprocessor System
This paper presents an overview of the evolution of IBM multiprocessor products and current product offerengs. Programming language solutions for parallel program execution are discussed and their suitability for the implementation of scientific and engineering applications is assessed.
A set of groundrules governing the provision of parallel programming capabilities is proposed. Results from applying these groundrules to real scientific application codes executing on a multiprocessor are provided.
Open questions for future investigation are posed.
