Abstract

Clinical epidemiology is a discipline that attempts to bring the analytical techniques of classical epidemiology to the primary clinical setting, to study questions of medical decision-making, resource utilization and quality and efficacy of care. As such, it moves away from the health policy arena and large, population-based demographic analyses, to deal with issues affecting the practice of medicine by the primary care physician.
