Abstract

The present state of clinical endoscopy is characterized by the advent of electronic techniques. A first generation of video endoscopes (VE) fitted with CCD imagers is already available and endoscopists are much interested how their imaging properties compare with those of well established fiber endoscopes. We therefore conducted together with the II. Med. Klinik of the Technical University of Munich a comparative study of optical performance including four different VE (A,B,C,D) and one fiberscope GIF Q10 for reference. The parameters under test where resolution and color reproduction.
