Abstract
Numerous reviews have been devoted to considering the combination of radiotherapy (RT) and chemotherapy (CT) (Bleehen 1981; Vaeth 1979; Peckham and Collis 1981; Tubiana 1981; Rubin 1984) and they have underlined the importance of the relative timing of the administration of the drugs and the radiation. The time interval and sequence between the delivery of CT and RT exerts an influence on both the tolerance of normal tissues and the probability of local control of the tumor.
