Abstract

The relation between the shape irregularities of metal particles and energy-level statistics is discussed here according to the results of computer simulations /1/ and theoretical consideration /2/. We obtain the relation ω∼1−c/Rη, where ω, R and c represent the so-called level-repulsion exponent, the degree of shape irregularities and a certain positive constant, respectively. Here η is given as η≃2 by means of both the simulations and the theoretical consideration.
