Abstract

In the preceding chapters we have discussed theoretical foundations for the calculation of the interatomic forces in metals and we have learned how to calculate the structure and the thermodynamic properties of a metal in both the crystalline and the liquid states. This theory is sufficiently advanced to attack a calculation of the complete pressure-temperature phase diagram of a simple metal.
