Experimental Investigation of Three-dimensional Separation on Ellipsoid Bodies at Incidence

Abstract

The present research concerns the phenomenon of incompressible three-dimensional separation on two types of obstacle:
  • the first model is an Ellipsoid Cylinder of Revolution (E.C.R) which was tested in the O.N.E.R.A. F2 subsonic atmospheric wind tunnel (see Fig. 1).

  • the second model is an Oblate Ellipsoid Cylinder (O.E.C) which was used by using 3D LDV system in the O.N.E.R.A S2Ch wind tunnel (see Fig. 2).
