Abstract
Anticancer chemotherapy is used not only as palliative treatment in advanced disease but also as curative treatment either by itself or in combination with surgery or radiation. On the other hand cytotoxic drugs can produce some of the most adverse side-effects of any cancer treatment [1]. Apart from the pharmacological side-effects, such as nausea and vomiting, patients experience increased negative emotions (anxiety, depression, restlessness, etc.) which again cause nausea and vomiting, forming a vicious circle. Some patients develop these symptoms even in anticipation of the therapy as a conditioned response which is usually refractory to antiemetic medications [2].
