Abstract

Several chronological criteria have been applied when defining late unreduced THD, i.e., 72h [175], 1 week [354], 3 weeks [163], etc. The criteria used in this book are based on the fact that when reduction of the dislocation is delayed more than 24 h, the incidence of AN shows an extremely high rise, and this significantly affects the outcome. Thus, late unreduced THD is defined as a hip remaining dislocated for more than 24 h.
