Abstract
The current treatment schema for simple craniosynostosis has been well defined by Marchac, McCarthy, Whitaker, and others, illustrating slight variations in technique, but with good to excellent results in most cases. Repeat osteotomies for plagiocephaly and trigonocephaly are rarely necessary with the current approaches to correction. A previously presented series of 57 patients with isolated coronal synostosis revealed no repeat osteotomies after treatment with the “floating forehead” variant or tongue-in-groove method.
