Radiological assessment is the cornerstone of the beginning of the diagnosis of malignant disease as it is usually the primary abnormality detected. The plain chest radiograph is the basic tool in the diagnosis and management of patients with lung cancer. There are only a few incidences in which the diagnosis is made and a normal radiograph is obtained.
