Abstract

Software economics and software estimating have been subject to wide variations and large errors. One of the fundamental reasons for these problems has been the lack of standard definitions for dealing with source cade, lack of standard definitions for the scape of activities to be included in the estimate, and lack of standard definitions for the tools and methodologies applied to software projects. This paper describes the source cade conventions, chart of accounts, and standard methodology definitions used by the Software Productivity, Quality, and Reliability [SPQR] estimating models.
