Applications in Surface Physics

Part of the book series: Topics in Current Physics ((TCPHY,volume 7))

Abstract

Recent progress in the development of techniques for the study of solid surfaces has presented an ever increasing amount of information which can be effectively interpreted with the aid of Monte Carlo studies. Simulation results are presented which explain the possible surface critical behavior in magnets with modified surface exchange. Critical behavior in binary alloy surfaces is examined and the effects of surface enrichment are studied. Surface adatom deposition has been examined and Monte Carlo data are described for order-disorder transitions and kinetic phenomenon in adsorbed monolayers.
