Abstract

Although Crush Syndrome was observed during the Messina earthquake in Italy in 1909 and in air raids during World War I, it was first described in 1941 by Bywaters [3, 4], whose name is always associated with what he first called “Crush Syndrome”, and later on he preferred to name it “Ischemic Muscle Necrosis”.
