Summary

A brief description of a buoyant jet problem in the cold pool of a Commercial Demonstration Fast Reactor [CDFR] is given. An experimental facility built to provide generic data on buoyant jets is described. Comparisons are made between the experimental data produced by this facility and numerical predictions from the PHOENICS computer code.

When assessing the success of the code cost, ease of use, and presentation are considered.
