Summary
The dynamic behaviour cf structural elements subjected to compressive loading is investigated by means of three simplified theoretical models. Curves of the square of the frequency versus the applied axial loading illustrate such a behaviour. The corresponding equilibrium paths are presented. The effect of the initial imperfection is taken into account. Theoretical results for a rectangular plate are also presented.
