Measurement of Dynamic Stress Intensity History for a Crack Loaded by Impact

Summary

A method to measure dynamic stress intensity histories for cracks subjected to an impact load is developed by use of a numerical Laplace transformation method and Ī integral proposed by Nilsson. Dynamic stress intensity histories for specimens loaded by the one point impact bending is obtained by the numerical inverse Laplace transformation of \(\sqrt{\rm{IE}}\), where E is the Young’s modulus, and well compared with the histories calculated from the Ĵ integral.
