A Wave-Fractographic Study of Fast Fracture in Polymers and Polymer Composites
A wave-fractographic study was performed on polymers and polymer composites which exhibit brittle-like fracture. Details of fracture propagation behavior are studied particularly at highly discontinuous stages where no other methods are successful in the measurement of the fracture velocity. The measurement was performed on the slow-to-fast fracture transition and on the stick-slip type propagation.
