Abstract
The SI-emission of organic molecules, which are deposited out of aqueous solutions on metal substrates, is strongly influenced by the chemical properties of the substrate surface, the solvent, the additives and the chemical behaviour of the substance itself /1–5/. Most often silver has been successfully applied as substrate material. In order to get informations about interactions between solved molecules and the substrate and about the composition and structure of the adsorbed organic layers, we did systematic investigations with differently pretreated silver surfaces and different solvents. The main results of the pyrimidine base cytosine are presented here.
